Duit Syiling Kesultanan Melayu Stamp Set

The Idea 💡

Following the theme of 'old coins', we did some research on which era of Malaysia did the coins were used. We saw that it was mostly used during the Sultanate era in which the coins were used for buying and trading goods at their respective ports such as Melaka and Johor. Gaining inspiration on that idea, we had thought of using the stamps as 'coins' to tell a story of trading during the olden times of 'Kesultanan Melayu'.
Mood board 📌

The theme that we were mostly going for were historical, trading, ships, and sultan Melayu. So, one of the things that were added to the mood board is a keris which is an iconic and historical weapon used since during the Melaka era and still sometimes used today as either a weapon or a display. Other than that, the chest box is there to show where the coins were kept. The background that we choose for the shooting is wooden table, an idea that some of the products are placed on a table to show the process of trading and buying.
